Odds of every NBA team winning 2021-22 title: Miami Heat +2500

No one saw an NBA Finals appearance coming for the Miami Heat in 2020. They were a group of talented but puzzling pieces. Somehow, they came together and went on to have one of the most unexpected and dazzling runs in NBA history. They may have come up short against the Los Angeles Lakers in the Finals but there was a consensus building that they were on their way to a dynasty.

That became laughable when they were bounced in the first round of the playoffs this past season.

The Heat didn’t make a ton of moves in free agency but they probably picked up the most impactful player for their situation in Kyle Lowry.

A floor leader and general was exactly what the Heat were missing. With Lowry guiding the Toronto Raptors to deep playoff runs year after year, he’ll be a huge upgrade over Goran Dragic and Kendrick Nunn.

Jimmy Butler will do what he always does. Meaning, get on the nerves of his teammates while simultaneously pushing them to be better than they ever have. As long as Tyler Herro can take one more step in his development and Bam Adebayo continues to be a force on both sides of the ball, the Heat have a great chance to make noise this year. But this is a question of their championship aspirations. Don’t expect, or put your money down, on the Heat making a 2020-esque run this time around.
