Odds of every NBA team winning 2021-22 title: Houston Rockets +50000

Nothing is impossible in the NBA. We’ve seen some of the unlikeliest teams have better than expected seasons and go on to have deep playoff runs. But while crazy things can happen, the likelihood of the Houston Rockets sniffing an NBA title this year is unfathomable. Heck, even nabbing a playoff spot this year is a bit laughable and improbable.

The Rockets are loaded with young talent. Kevin Porter Jr. is a rockstar and judging by the 50 burger he dropped last season, he could turn out to be a franchise pillar. Second overall pick this past draft in Jalen Green has already shown glimpses of greatness, case in point would be the incoming rookie averaging 20.3 points on shooting splits of 51.4/52.6/92.9 during Summer League play. Sure it’s only Summer League but it has to mean something. Also, Christian Wood is oozing with All-Star potential. The ultra-talented big man averaged 21 points a game to go along with more than nine boards last season. That said, this team doesn’t stand a chance at competing with anyone in the league at this point.

The talent, while undeniable, is still incredibly young. The Rockets main core have spent all of 34 seconds in the NBA and have no idea how to win games. This year is going to be an ugly one for Rockets fans. They’ll witness a lot of one-sided beatdowns for the home team. A championship isn’t in their near future. Instead, the Rockets will have a leg up against the competition in terms of who will finish the year with the worst record.
