Minnesota Timberwolves free agency move No. 4: Taurean Prince

The Timberwolves upgraded their roster with the trade of Ricky Rubio for Taurean Prince. as discussed previously their backup point guard is now the defensive specialist Patrick Beverley. They improved their perimeter game by getting Prince.

Prince shot the 3-ball at 40.0 percent last season. He was able to do this despite being traded from the Brooklyn Nets to the Cleveland Cavaliers as part of the James Harden trade. He actually shot the ball better with the Cavaliers, going at 41.5 percent in the 29 games he played for the franchise.

This is going to help the Timberwolves no end given that they were ranked 25th in the league last season in 3-point percentage. They shot the ball at only 34.9 percent from behind the long line which is one of the reasons that they remain down the bottom of the Western Conference standings.

Prince is in the final year of his deal so the Timberwolves have the ability to re-sign him if it is mutually beneficial to both parties. However, if it does not work out then the team can move on at the end of the season having not cost themselves a great deal.
