The Minnesota Timberwolves have had a very up and down offseason. This is not a good situation for a team that did not make the playoffs again, despite the amount of extremely high draft picks they have on their roster.

With that being said, they did not have a pick in the 2021 NBA draft which, in a strange way, sums up the Timberwolves’ luck. They did not have a pick in the deepest draft in a long while after having so many good selections in previous, less talented drafts.

Now they have fired their team president Gersson Rosas in a move that surprised many. However, he reportedly oversaw a front office that was dysfunctional. This can be seen by the issues they have had on the court as well. The culture that was created under his leadership did not promote positive chemistry on the court. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the last of his free agency moves.

Minnesota Timberwolves free agency signing No. 1: Jordan McLaughlin

After spending the last two seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves on a two-way deal, Jordan McLaughlin signed a three-year, minimum-salary deal with the franchise. This is the power of a two-way deal, if a player works hard, they will get rewarded.

McLaughlin has spent the past two seasons learning the systems of the TimberWolves, averaging 6.0 points and 3.9 assists in 18.9 minutes per game. He is undersized at 5’11” but can still space the floor, shooting the 3-ball at 36.9 percent from behind the long line.
