With training camp just days away, it’s time to look at what we can expect out of the Dallas Mavericks.

With a new head coach in Jason Kidd and a hopefully healthy Kristaps Porzingis to pair alongside Luka Doncic, the Mavs have the foundation to make a run in a somewhat open Western Conference.

After consecutive first-round exits, the Dallas Mavericks will look to take a step forward in the 2021-22 season.

The Mavericks maybe had different plans for how their offseason would play out, but they did end up adding solid rotation pieces in Sterling Brown, Reggie Bullock, and most recently Frank Ntilikina to be supporting pieces around Doncic.

While those aren’t the flashiest of names Dallas could have acquired, but all three bring skillsets that complement the Mavs young star, shooting and defense. Luka is a transcendent talent, and will certainly get as much as he can out of each player on the floor.

In both of the last two postseasons the Mavericks have shown glimpses of playoff potential, but injuries and inexperience, and of course the Clippers, have halted any potential playoff run Dallas has been dying to make for the last 10 years.

While Luka just signed his rookie max-extension, some could say the clock is ticking for Dallas. This is the year they must make a significant jump. Here are three bold predictions for the 2021-2022 Dallas Mavericks.
