Golden State Warriors free agency signing No. 2: Otto Porter

The Warriors slipped this signing a little under the radar this free agency period. Otto Porter, when he can hit the court, is a tremendous addition to any team that he can play on. While he can put up good numbers, but Porter has an impact that cannot be quantified by a simple box score.

At 6’8″ Porter can play both the small forward and the power forward role for the team and this is going to be crucial for the Warriors this season. They famously made small-ball fashionable and Porter’s versatility is going to help them play a similar style this season.

Add to that, Porter is also a capable scorer, having the ability to hit the outside shot as well as taking the ball inside. He is going to fell at home peeling off to a spot on the perimeter or cutting to the hoop which will help the Warriors’ already incredible floor spacing.

He can also hold his own on defense and rebounds the ball well. The only question mark over Porter at the moment is whether he can make it to the court for enough games to have an impact. He has only played 42 games in the last two seasons.
