Chicago Bulls free agency signing No. 2: Tony Bradley

After the Bulls made their mid-season trades, it became obvious that Theis was not going to get as much playing time as he would like when Vucevic is healthy. This was always going to be the case as Vucevic is the more talented center that will help the team get to playoff basketball.

As such it appears that Theis was looking to get the best deal for himself as possible so he was a sign-and-trade with the Houston Rockets. This meant that the Bulls need to find a replacement for his defense and they appear to have done so in Tony Bradley.

Bradley started his career with the Utah Jazz as the understudy of Rudy Gobert but struggled in their system. It was not until he signed with the OKC Thunder did we see that Bradley has the potential to be a solid backup big. Given the right system, he is also a solid team defender.

This is also where it is important where Bradley was. The OKC Thunder system is very similar to Donovan’s now because they still run the same system as when he was their head coach. Bradley flourished there so should work well for the Bulls now.
