Predicting the stat leaders for the Washington Wizards in 2020-21

Playoffs? Absolutely not. Bradley Beal leading the NBA in points per game? Very likely.

Wizards points per game leader: Bradley Beal

The offensive burden placed on the shoulders of Bradley Beal is a heavy one. But thankfully, they’re wide enough to carry it.

Even when John Wall was smack dab in the middle of his prime, Beal was still very much the offensive focal point of the Washington Wizards. The former Florida Gator has led the team in that department for five straight seasons and during these past two seasons, in particular, he’s cruised right on past the 30 point per game mark.

Once again, even with the numerous players that have made their way to Washington this offseason, Beal will lead this squad by a healthy margin.

Wizards rebounds per game leader: Kyle Kuzma

When it comes to rebounding, no one on this team will be contending for the league-leading spot. With Thomas Bryant coming off a torn ACL, we expect the big man to have a slow start to the season. Montrezl Harrell has never been known as a rebounder so don’t expect him to grab too many when he’s out there. All in all, we’re going the unconventional route by selecting Kyle Kuzma. While he isn’t a monster rebounder, the 6.1 he averaged last season with the Los Angeles Lakers, was actually more than the 6.0 Bryant accumulated this past year. With even more minutes allotted to him this season, Kuzma should take full advantage.

Wizards assists per game leader: Spencer Dinwiddie

As we come to the assists per game leader, we’re going with their newly acquired point guard, Spencer Dinwiddie. On two separate occasions, Dinwiddie averaged over 6.5 a night. Not coincidentally, those occurrences came when the talented point man had the ball in his hands a lot.

With a fresh start and new surroundings, Dinwiddie should be given the reigns of the team and take full advantage, averaging somewhere in the eight assists per game mark and setting a new career-high.
