Predicting the stat leaders for every NBA team
Predicting the stat leaders for the Atlanta Hawks in 2020-21
When it comes to predicting who will lead a particular team in certain statical categories, it can become somewhat difficult. Teams have retooled and added new players and All-Star caliber ballers who are on the back end of their careers could be in store for a precipitous drop in production. But when it comes to the Atlanta Hawks, this one was easy.
Hawks points and assists per game leader: Trae Young
Trae Young isn’t just going to lead the Atlanta-based franchise in both points and assists per game, but he’s ultimately going to seriously contend for the league leading spot in both categories. During the 2019-2020 season, only his second in the NBA, Young finished fourth in points per game with 29.6 and second in assists with 9.3. He also finished second this past season in assists with 9.4.
Hawks rebounds per game leader: Clint Capela
An even easier choice will be Clint Capela when it comes to leading the Hawks in rebounds per game. The big man is fresh off a season where he led the entire NBA with 14.3 a night. He’s also made consistent trips to the top five. Considering that no one else on the Hawks cracked double digits in that department, Capela is the obvious choice here.
