Predicting the stat leaders for the Toronto Raptors in 2020-21

If you’re expecting a playoff berth for the Toronto Raptors this upcoming season, think again. With that said, we have a strong hunch who will be their overall leaders in most of the statistical categories.

Raptors points and assists per game leader: Fred VanFleet

We were never sold on Pascal Siakam as a number one option. The multiple-time All-Star struggled with the extra attention he was given on the offensive side of the ball but his 21.4 points per game led the Toronto Raptors this past season.

But, with Lowry now playing in Miami, even more, eyeballs will be locked in on Siakam. Because of that, we believe he’ll struggle to no end which will leave the door wide open for Fred VanFleet to take over in that department. The diminutive guard poured in 19.6 points a night and he’ll have all of the opportunities in the world this coming year.

VanFleet dished out 6.3 assists per game last season, second only to the newly departed Lowry. He’ll easily take care of business and lead the Raptors in that category. Especially without a viable secondary playmaker on the squad

Raptors rebounds per game leader: Pascal Siakam

While we aren’t expecting Siakam to score as many points as VanFleet this upcoming season, we do anticipate that he’ll crash the glass. In short, Siakam will have to get his hands dirty and grab boards, especially when the Raptors go small out there.
