Predicting the stat leaders for the Chicago Bulls in 2020-21

The Chicago Bulls have a completely different roster heading into the season.

With several new faces on the team, we expect a different player to lead them in points, rebounds, and assists.

Bulls points per game leader: Zach LaVine

For starters, Zach LaVine will be the best scorer this team pushes out on the floor. For the past three seasons, he’s scored more than 23 points a night and subsequently, he’s led the Bulls in points per game. This past season, he poured in a career-high 27.4. While we believe that number will take a hit due to the variety they’ll have on the offensive end, by the time the season comes to a close, he’ll be at the top of the charts.

Bulls rebounds per game leader: Nikola Vucevic

Nikola Vucevic, the talented big man that was acquired at the trade deadline last season, is the obvious choice to lead the Bulls in rebounds per game. For the past three seasons, the two-time All-Star has averaged double digits in the rebounding department, and considering that the Bulls don’t have a ton of size, Vucevic will grab a ton of boards all year long.

Bulls assists per game leader: DeMar DeRozan

We know what you’re thinking, Lonzo Ball is the likely player to lead the Bulls in assists. In two of his four seasons in the league, after all, he’s averaged at least 7.0 assists a night. Regardless of that, we actually believe DeMar DeRozan will take the lead in that category.

When DeRozan made his way to the San Antonio Spurs three seasons ago, his ability to pass the ball truly took a huge leap. His 6.2 assists per game during that stretch, is actually slightly better than the 6.0 Ball has been able to dish out during that same amount of time. Ball might be the more gifted passer but DeRozan has come a long way in that department and we believe it’ll only continue in Chicago.
