Los Angeles Lakers NBA free agency move No. 7: Kent Bazemore

In another attempt to space the floor the Lakers signed Kent Bazemore to a single-season, veterans-minimum deal. Fresh off a stint with the Golden State Warriors, Bazemore is very used to being a 3-point sniper.

The Lakers are set up very differently than the Warriors. James and Davis are the two main players. This means that the Lakers are not set up to be as 3-point friendly as the system he just came out of which is based around one of the greatest shooters to play the game, Stephen Curry.

This means that the 40.8 percent shooting from deep that Bazemore achieved last season can be explained as an exception to the rule. He is a career 35.6 percent shooter from beyond the arc which is respectable but not spectacular.

The best part of this story is that Bazemore will be receiving the ball from some of the best creators in the history of the game in Westbrook, James, and Rondo. This may help free him up on offense given that most perimeter defenses are going to be focused on the likes of Bazemore and Ellington given that they are one of the few threats on the court from distance.
