Los Angeles Lakers NBA free agency move No. 11: Russell Westbrook

In a move that has all the hallmarks of a franchise going all-in on a year to win the championship. They traded away Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezl Harrell, and Kyle Kuzma to the Washington Wizards as well as Isaiah Jackson to the Indiana Pacers to secure the talented point guard.

Westbrook is like no player who has played the game. He is talented in so many areas and his never-say-die attitude is very reminiscent of Michael Jordan. He also collects triple-doubles like no other player in history, having passed the Big O, Oscar Robertson last season.

Westbrook is the 2017 MVP in a season where he carried the Thunder to an unlikely playoff appearance the season after Kevin Durant left. He is also a two-time scoring champion and a three-time assists leader. He is also the best rebounding guard the league has seen for a long time.

Despite his reputation of being selfish, Westbrook has helped players have career years. Durant won his MVP with Westbrook, Bradley Beal had a career year last year and so many of his former teammates have spoken about how good a teammate Westbrook is. If he can make James or Davis better, then the Lakers will be hard to beat, especially if they can overcome their spacing issues.
