The Cleveland Cavaliers have plenty of reasons to be excited about the 2021-22 NBA season. Years of rebuilding through the NBA Draft are sure to pay off as the roster is bursting at the seams with young talent. One prospect, in particular, who deserves the full support of Cleveland fans is Collin Sexton.

Sexton has gone above expectations as the first member of the Cavaliers latest reconstruction project. Selected with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Sexton leaves little room for disappointment.

Nevertheless, a polarizing rookie season and his lack of height have cause doubts for many. Even in spite of the consistent improvements, Sexton has shown throughout his first three seasons — there is debate as to whether or not he deserves a big payday, or if he even belongs on the team moving forward.

Now is the time for the Cleveland Cavaliers to rally behind Collin Sexton and show him support as he enters his most important season yet.

It is easy to forget about Sexton due to the sophomore breakout of Darius Garland and a potential superstar in Evan Mobley being drafted this summer. However, there is no question Sexton will be a major driving force behind Cleveland’s success this season.

The 22-year-old is still one of the most important members of the team and will determine if they reach their Play-In goals or fall back into the lottery. Thankfully, the Cavaliers are in good hands with Sexton and here is why.
