Miami Heat offseason signing No. 8: Kyle Lowry

The Heat took a chance on their roster this season. They decided to part ways with the 35-year-old Goran Dragic, sending him to the Toronto Raptors with Achiuwa. In return, they received the 35-year-old Kyle Lowry instead in a move that actually ages the Heat slightly.

They doubled down on Lowry as they received him in a sign and trade with the Raptors, his contract is three years, worth $85.0 million. Dragic was a team option, only worth $18.0 million for this season. He becomes a free agent at the end of this season.

This shows that the Heat are back to win now as Lowry brings something to the table that not many other Heat players have, championship experience. He was a key part of the 2019 NBA championship with his ability to take over a game being huge for the Raptors in that season.

Despite his age, Lowry is still extremely effective, shooting the ball well from deep last season as well as creating his own shot inside. Had he played enough games, his 7.3 assists per game would have still had him inside the top ten in that category. Overall, if he stays healthy, this is a great signing.
