Cleveland Cavaliers predicted points per game leader – Collin Sexton

The face of the franchise, for now at least, finally makes his appearance on the list. Young Bull, Collin Sexton, is a certified bucket getter and has been a bright spot for the Cleveland Cavaliers amidst the second post-Lebron James era of Cavaliers basketball.

Sexton came in to run point for the Cavs but has transitioned into more of a scoring two-guard than a stereotypical playmaking one. His growth has continued throughout his career and really blossomed when he got his partner in crime, Darius Garland, to form the dynamic duo “Sexland.”

He’s become a higher volume scorer while also becoming drastically more efficient and that has allowed the Cavs to remain somewhat competitive in individual games even though they aren’t very on paper. Sexton led the team in scoring both in 2019 and in 2020 while also being the team’s third-leading scorer his rookie year, 2018, behind Kevin Love and Jordan Clarkson. He’s become a popular name thrown around in trade talks as his individual success hasn’t necessarily led to overall team success.

Sexton played at a borderline All-Star level in 2020, especially to start the season. If he hadn’t already, he showed why he was such a high pick in the 2018 draft. In 2021, should he continue to play at the level he did in 2020 or even better, Sexton not only has a chance of making the All-Star game but he could be up there in talks for All NBA contention come season’s end.
