Cleveland Cavaliers: Predicting 2021 statistical leaders in each major category

Cleveland Cavaliers predicted rebounds per game leader – Jarrett Allen
The fact that Jarrett Allen is a beast in the paint, offensively and defensively, has already been hammered home during the blocks per game section, this is no different. Allen is an absolute specimen of a human being and is able to physically dominate the opposition in the paint and move them around when pursuing rebounds.
Allen had a career year as a rebounder in 2020, averaging 10 boards a game. He’s consistently improved every year, starting with only 5.4 rebounds his rookie season improving to 8.4 in his second year, 9.6 in his third and the aforementioned 10 this past season. As his career has progressed, Allen has become more confident and willing to put a shoulder into someone and dominate as they move into position to grab a rebound.
While being a good defensive rebounder, he’s an even better offensive rebounder. Allen is a top ten offensive rebounder in the NBA statistically and still shows tons of potential with his body control and instinct on when to make his jump into the paint.
When Andre Drummond was on the Cavs, it was obvious that he rubbed off on the Fro. Drummond is one of the better, if not the best, rebounders of our generation and while Allen isn’t there yet, he’s shown flashes of potential.
There isn’t really a competition this season for who will end up being the Cavs leading rebounder this season, barring a historic season from the third overall pick in the draft, Evan Mobley.
