Cleveland Cavaliers: Predicting 2021 statistical leaders in each major category

Cleveland Cavaliers predicted blocks per game leader – Jarrett Allen
This is an obvious one. Jarrett Allen should be the blocks leader for the Cleveland Cavaliers as he’s the anchor underneath the basket.
Allen is an imposing near-7-footer who lives in the paint offensively and defensively. Throughout his NBA career, Allen has been a force down low and has been known to be a high-level shot-blocker, dating back to his time in college at the University of Texas.
Fro will be paired alongside rookie Evan Mobley in the frontcourt when the season rolls around. Mobley averaged 2.9 blocks per game during his time at USC but it’s hard to imagine that success would directly transfer to the pro level. With Allen likely facing a majority of the shots at the basket and within a couple of feet, he definitely has the best chance to lead the team.
Throughout his NBA career so far, Allen has averaged 1.4 blocks per game, with his career-high being 1.5 per game while a member of the Brooklyn Nets in 2018. Allen’s worst year blocking shots came in his rookie season, 2017-2018, when he averaged 1.2 blocks per game across the 72 games he appeared in.
His career-high for blocks in a game is six and he’s reached that mark twice in his career, the first time coming against the Cleveland Cavaliers when he was a Net in February of 2019. Should Allen take another jump in his career, he could establish himself as one of the premier shot blockers in the NBA.
