Boston Celtics: Avery Bradley remains unsigned in 2021 NBA Free Agency
Spending the first seven seasons of his career with Boston from 2010-17, Avery Bradley had his most productive years with the franchise. Fans will fondly remember his time with the team, and he remains a free agent after bouncing around the league the last few years.
Bradley most notably played with the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2019-20 season, where the team would win the championship. However, Bradley was not in attendance as he would opt out of the NBA’s restart, but he was primarily a starter for them before then. Aside from that, he has played in brief stints with the Detroit Pistons, LA Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, Miami Heat, and Houston Rockets.
Being limited to just 27 games in 2020-21 due to injury, Bradley went unsigned in free agency and stands as one of the most well-known unsigned players to this point. The guard proudly boasts two All-Defensive nominations on his résumé and is among the best perimeter defenders at the guard position in the NBA. In addition to his defense, Bradley is a solid offensive player as he has averaged 11.5 points and shot 36.3 percent from 3-point range throughout his 11 NBA seasons.
One team that should pursue his services is the Denver Nuggets, who would be wise to add to their guard depth ahead of next season. Denver’s second star, Jamal Murray, is expected to miss a good chunk of next season as he recovers from an ACL injury, and bringing in Bradley to bolster the position in his absence would make sense. He would be a cheap addition for a team that is looking to contend without their co-star to the reigning league MVP in Nikola Jokić.
