Brooklyn Nets: Predicting leaders in all the statistical categories
By Duncan Smith
Brooklyn Nets statistical leaders: 2-point percentage – Kevin Durant
Predicted percentage: 58.0
Kevin Durant is unstoppable from everywhere on the floor, inside or outside the arc. With the kind of spacing this Nets team has, he’ll be able to operate with impunity from the mid-range or around the rim. Giving him an inch anywhere in the half-court is death, but opposing teams aren’t going to have a choice in the matter.
Brooklyn Nets statistical leaders: 3-point percentage – Joe Harris
Predicted percentage: 48.0
Joe Harris is a god-tier 3-point shooter even without All-World superstar teammates, but the combination of Harden, Irving and Durant make him a lethal weapon without compare from long distance. He’s a career 43.8 percent shooter from long range and is coming off a 47.5 percent shooting season with only intermittent play from Durant and Harden, so a full season with this trio should pay dividends for Harris.
Brooklyn Nets statistical leaders: Free-throw percentage – Kyrie Irving
Predicted percentage: 92.0
The Brooklyn Nets have a handful of elite free-throw shooters, but none better than Kyrie Irving. He’s coming off back-to-back 92.2 percent free-throw shooting seasons and is an 88.0 percent shooter in his career. For that matter, he’s just outside the top in our projections for scoring, two-point percentage and stocks, just slightly behind Kevin Durant and James Harden in these categories. Irving truly is an elite member of this Brooklyn Big 3.
