New York Knicks free agency signing No. 4: Evan Fournier

After being a mainstay of the Orlando Magic franchise for the past five and a half seasons, Evan Fournier was traded as part of the Orlando Magic roster renewal from last season. He was sent to the Boston Celtics where he was a good third option behind Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

The Celtics were reasonably keen to re-sign Fournier as he is a tremendous floor-spacing wing. Fortunately for the Knicks, he decided to move to New York rather than stay with Boston. His talents will certainly be utilized more effectively with the Knicks.

He will almost certainly take the place of Reggie Bullock in the Knicks starting lineup and this makes them much more dangerous offensively. They lose a little bit on the defensive end but this will be more than covered by how well Fournier shoots the basketball.

Fournier is a career 37.9 percent shooter from behind the long line., but shot the ball at an incredible 46.3 percent from behind the 3-point line for the Celtics. If he can carry that through to the Knicks, he will take the pressure off the rest of the Knicks players, especially Randle.

Grade: A+
