Out of all the spectacular trios we’ve already named and those who are to come, the Golden States three-man squad of Mitch Richmond, Tim Hardaway, and Chris Mullin only played a total of two years together.

Under normal circumstances, we would’ve even acknowledge a trio with such little playing time with one another but this group was iconic. It isn’t every day that a trio is so good that they get their own nickname. But, in the case of “TMC”, that’s exactly what happened.

Defenders hated attempting to guard Hardaway on the perimeter. The story was always the same, they’d go left while he’d go right, then it was an easy lay-in at the basket. Mullins may have been slow-footed but once his feet were set, he’d bury shot after shot. He was also crafty with the ball and easily created opportunities for himself.

Richmond was the bully, we all knew he was going to the basket but there was nothing anyone could do about it. The Golden State trio would make the playoffs just once, losing in the second round to the Los Angeles Lakers.

While they didn’t rack up many accolades as a group, they were still iconic.
