Officially but unofficially, LeBron James ushered in the era of player-made big 3s. The future first-ballot Hall of Famer, and one of the greatest players of all time, grew sick and tired of banging his head against the seemingly unmovable wall of the Boston Celtics.
With the likes of Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Rajon Rondo all standing in his way, James figured that the best way to take them down and reach his ultimate goal was to team up. So, following another playoff loss against the Celtics, James packed his bags and took his talents to south beach.
Now, with the help of Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, James had the exact firepower he needed to run the league. During his four years with his new squad, James never averaged anything less than 26.7 points per game. Bosh found his comfort zone, averaging over 17 points per game, and early on, Wade was as dominant as any other shooting guard in the league.
During the tail end, however, the injuries truly piled on Wade as he averaged 19 points during the final season that all three players were together. They were also selected to the All-Star game four consecutive seasons.
In total, the Heat went on to win to make four NBA Finals appearances and took home back-to-back titles in 2012 and 2013. Despite their success, it feels as though the Heat could have done even more.
