Best trios in NBA history: 10. Kobe Bryant, Lamar Odom, and Pau Gasol

  • Bryant: 26.8 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 5 apg
  • Gasol: 18.7 ppg, 9.7 rpg, 55.5 fg%
  • Odom: 12.6 ppg, 9.3 rpg
  • Finals record: 2-1
  • Time together: 2008-2011

The Los Angeles Lakers have always shown a tendency to create big 3s. While the pairing the Kobe Bryant, Lamar Odom, and Pau Gasol didn’t produce the highest caliber of names, outside of Bryant, but in the end, they won…a lot.

As a group, the Lakers managed to win 71.9% of their games. They also reached three straight NBA Finals and pocketed back-to-back titles. With Bryant scoring on the outside, Gasol putting in work down low, and Odom making it look easy against opposing bench units, the Lakers continually ranked in the top 10 on offense. On defense, they were just as good, if not better. The trio never had a season in which they ranked any lower than sixth in terms of defensive ratings.

Gasol was a three-time All-Star, and three-time All-NBA player. Bryant took home the regular season MVP in 2008, back-to-back Finals MVPs in 2009 and 2010, and was regarded by many as the best player in the world. While Odom never quite hit those lofty heights, he did win the Sixth Man of the Year in 2011 and was a big time contributor during their championship seasons.

While they may not get the attention of other big 3s, Bryant, Gasol, and Odom almost never lost when they were on the floor together in those four years.
