Best trios in NBA history: 30. Larry Nance, Mark Price, and Brad Daugherty

  • Price: 17.7 ppg, 8.1 apg
  • Brad: 19.2 ppg, 9.7 rpg
  • Nance: 16.2 ppg, 8.1 rpg
  • Finals record: 0-0
  • Time together: 1988-1994

Before LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love brought an NBA title to the Cleveland Cavaliers, a trio consisting of Larry Nance, Mark Price, and Brad Daugherty were attempting to do it first.

Seemingly afraid of prosperity over the years, the Cavaliers pulled themselves up from their bootstraps during the late 1990s and more specifically, made playoff appearances just about every year during that stretch. On three occasions, the Cavaliers would enjoy winning over 50 games with Nance, Price, and Daugherty leading the way. Not only were they slowly becoming a powerhouse but having an All-Star game without at least of those three, became virtually impossible.

In seven seasons, Nance was chosen to two All-Star games, while Mark Price was a four-time selection. Daugherty, their big and reliable center, was their most frequent visitor to the midseason classic, making it a total of five times.

As a squad, the Cavaliers only missed out on the playoffs once during their time together. And while they made plenty of first-round exits, the Cavaliers and their original trio made them must-watch television.
