Best trios in NBA history: 14. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Oscar Robertson, and Bob Dandridge

  • Abdul-Jabbar: 31 ppg, 15.8 rpg
  • Robertson: 16.2 ppg, 7.4 apg, 4.9 rpg
  • Dandridge: 19 ppg, 7.9 rpg
  • Finals record: 1-1
  • Time together: 1970-1974

While Kareem Abdul-Jabbar may have built his name and most of his legacy under the bright lights of the Los Angeles Lakers, the NBA’s leading scorer was dominating the league in Milwaukee.

With Oscar Robertson and Bob Dandridge by his side, the Bucks won at least 60 games in three consecutive seasons and fell just short of making it four in a row when they won 59 in 1974. Robertson wasn’t his normal triple-double self but he was still really good and made two All-Star games while averaging 16.2 points, 7.4 assists and 4.9 rebounds. Dandridge was a handful down low as he averaged 19 points during their four years together to go along with 7.9 rebounds. He also hovered around 50% as he bullied defenders in the paint.

Unsurprisingly though, everything ran through Abdul-Jabbar. He crushed the competition by averaging 31 points and 15.8 rebounds during their run.

As a trio, they led the Bucks to two NBA Finals, one title, and made four consecutive Western Conference Finals, the Bucks were located in the west at the time as opposed to the east. If Abdul-Jabbar and Dandridge managed to team up with Robertson when he was collecting triple-doubles daily, they would be ranked much higher on this list.
