Boston Celtics: Way-too-early rotation projections for the upcoming season
The Second Unit
No matter who the Boston Celtics deploy for a starting lineup, the bench is going to be in good shape. With this suggested lineup, the second unit will be:
PG- Payton Pritchard
SG- Josh Richardson
SF- Aaron Nesmith
PF- Romeo Langford / Grant Williams
C- Al Horford
In this lineup, Richardson is moved to the second unit due to Schroder starting. However, it can benefit the Celtics to have him on the court with the second unit. Richardson is an experienced, defensive-minded, rotational player who can lead this bench unit to success on both sides of the court. Paired with Horford, the two will provide direction for the bench unit.
Nesmith really started taking off near the end of the season and into the short-lived playoff run last season. He continued his ascend into the Summer League where he looked to be one of the best players on the Celtics summer roster. Nesmith is poised to be a contributor on both ends of the floor this season for the Celtics.
Last but not least, Pritchard. He came into Boston as an extremely polished rookie and didn’t let the big stage of the NBA deter him in any way. Heading into year two, Pritchard was one of the best players in the Summer League and is poised to play a big role for the Celtics this season.
