Milwaukee Bucks: Grading free agency moves — Re-signing Thanasis Antetokounmpo

It took longer than expected, but the Milwaukee Bucks have indeed brought back energetic forward Thanasis Antetokounmpo. When Thanasis was first given a roster spot on the Bucks, it was a skeptical decision since it was no secret why he made the team, but now the Milwaukee fanbase has valued everything about him.

It’s not his basketball skills that mostly enamor the crowd. It’s the endless energy, grit, determination, courage, hustle, perseverance, tenacity, and motivational efforts that impact everyone around him. Whether or not he’s on the floor, Thanasis has become a valuable part of the identity of this team.

He’s done everything that the Bucks have asked him to do over the last few years and has been an amazing older brother to Giannis. Not to mention how great of a teammate he is as well. It was pretty much a no-brainer to bring back Thanasis to this locker room.

The older Antetokoumnpo brother will be on contract for $1.7 million this season, and will have a $1.8 million player option set for the 2022-2023 season. Thanasis is worth a roster spot on this Bucks team without a doubt now, and Milwaukee will be happy to have his contagious personality and humbleness back as they seek a consecutive championship run.
