The Dallas Mavericks have the hardest thing in the NBA to acquire: a young superstar, Luka Doncic.

Around Doncic, however, the roster is less spectacular. For the second season in a row, the Mavs were knocked out of the NBA playoffs by the LA Clippers, and this time it was after building a 2-0 lead and a big lead in Game 3.

The Dallas Mavericks have one of the game’s transcendent stars in Luka Doncic, and his ratings on NBA 2K prove it. What about his teammates?

As NBA 2K22’s release date of September 10th nears, they’ve been leaking ratings for a number of players. Most of these players are big names like LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant, but there are also a number of international players who have had their ratings released, as well as players who have requested their ratings.

Three Mavs are among the released ratings, including Doncic, Maxi Kleber and Josh Green. With just three players’ ratings known, it gives us room to predict the future and project both the start and end player ratings for everybody on the Dallas roster.

We have the benefit of looking back at the end ratings for NBA 2K21 in order to help us project where each player will start, but we won’t fully rely upon them. In some cases, NBA 2K will project decline or improvement since we last saw these players, and that’s part of what we’re going to try and get right.

Without further ado, let’s do some predicting.
