The Orlando Magic discovered the breakdown of their 2021-22 regular-season schedule on Friday, with the NBA releasing the games of all 30 teams. It is hard for there to be very many surprises, but one that did stand out was that their first game of the year will take place all the way in Texas, away to the San Antonio Spurs.

Other talking points included not having to face the Denver Nuggets on the second night of a back-to-back for the first time in a couple of years. Instead, they will play them in the Ball Arena in what will be the third game in four nights for the team. In other words, no easier a prospect at all.

The NBA has released the regular-season schedules for all 30 teams, and there are plenty of talking points for the Orlando Magic heading into 2021-22.

By the time the Magic take to the court to play the Spurs, fans will have gotten more glimpses of Jalen Suggs during the four preseason games that will have come before it. A player who is already generating the kind of excitement that has been lacking in Orlando for a long time now, and who has been universally praised as the best pick the Magic could have made on draft night.

Jonathan Isaac and Markelle Fultz will also be close to returning from ACL tears themselves at that stage as well. Isaac may even be on the court that night, with Fultz not too far behind him. Then we will get to see what the front office has put together reasonably quickly, with R.J. Hampton, Cole Anthony, Chuma Okeke and Wendell Carter Jr. filling in around that.

It promises to be a season of growth for the roster, while there will surely be growing pains as well. The following are the three main takeaways from the discovery of the Magic’s schedule, as they look to brighter days ahead.
