The Los Angeles Lakers revamped their roster after an injury-riddled season fell short of their championship expectations. Gone are Montrezl Harrell, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Andre Drummond, Kyle Kuzma, Dennis Schroder. Incoming are Russell Westbrook, Kendrick Nunn, Carmelo Anthony and just about everybody who has played for the Lakers in the last decade.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis have a new team around them, even if the roster is laden with aging veterans. With so many changes, NBA 2K22’s looming release is even more appealing. What better way to plug this new group together before the season starts to get an idea of how they’ll work together?

The Los Angeles Lakers are a new-look squad after revamping their roster to trade for Russell Westbrook. How will they look on NBA 2K22?

NBA 2K has been releasing player ratings ahead of the new game’s Sept. 10th launch, including both LeBron and Marc Gasol’s ratings. That leaves more than a dozen players on this Lakers roster who currently have unknown player ratings.

With all these unknowns, we’re going to go through the Laker roster and project each player’s starting rating — we won’t have to project for LeBron and Gasol, since theirs are already publicly known — and their season-ending rating.

We’ll also check in on this later in the season to see how close we were. In addition, for players who have already played in the NBA, we’ll have the advantage of being able to look at their NBA 2K21 season-ending ratings, but we won’t rely upon them.
