Another year, another NBA 2K. Even if some of the luster has worn off the iconic brand in recent years, just about all of us are still going to go buy the newest iteration, NBA 2K22, when it drops on Sept. 10th.

For some of us, that eagerness to get the game comes from an interest in forecasting how the new pieces of a team will fit together, and the Detroit Pistons are one of those intriguing new-look teams that’ll be fun to check out. Thanks to No. 1 draft pick Cade Cunningham, the Pistons are suddenly more intriguing than they’ve been in years.

NBA 2K has been dropping player ratings in recent days, primarily for superstars like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Steph Curry and Luka Doncic, as well as up-and-comer youngsters like Trae Young and Zion Williamson.

We’re nearing the launch of NBA 2K22, the iconic brand’s newest iteration. How do the Detroit Pistons expect to fare when player ratings are released?

Needless to say, that leaves the Pistons roster out in the cold in these early days. Jerami Grant had a great first season in Detroit, but he’s not quite in either class just yet. Cade Cunningham is going into his rookie season, and the time for his rating reveal has not yet happened either.

The players may be impatient, but this delay is great for our purposes. We’re going to go down the roster and project for every player both their season-beginning and ending player ratings. We’ll also check in on this later in the season to see how close we were. In addition, for players who have already played in the NBA, we’ll have the advantage of being able to look at their NBA 2K21 season-ending ratings, but we won’t rely upon them.

Without further ado, let us begin.
