The NBA recently concluded the strangest season in history, impacted by countless postponed games and man-games missed by players due to injuries and COVID complications. This season came after a suspended season that wrapped up in October amidst regular-season NFL games in the Orlando bubble.

Needless to say, the league has gone through an absurd year-and-a-half, but much of the pain the league, its players and broadcast partners endured was so that they could finally commence a real, hopefully normal season on the typical calendar and timetable. Assuming nothing goes too badly awry, this coming season will be that normal season.

Now that the annual NBA re-shuffle of players has largely ended, it’s time to assess where each team stands with way-too-early win-total predictions.

Now that we’re back on track, let’s take a look at the new-look NBA after free agency has largely concluded and go over our early win-total predictions. Remember, last season was a 72-game season while this will be an 82-game campaign.

For a refresher on how last year’s win-total predictions went here at Hoops Habit, take a look at that project right here. If you’d like to see a rundown on how last season’s predictions fared, check that out here. (Spoiler, they fared very well, thank you very much.)

A few teams made wholesale makeovers, including the Los Angeles Lakers who scooped up veteran depth at all positions. The Lakers made the most blockbustery of offseason trades by acquiring Russell Westbrook from the Washington Wizards while sending out Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope as well as draft capital.

Will this trade move the needle for the Lakers? Join us as we go through all 30 teams and see where they stand.

With no further ado, we shall begin alphabetically with the Atlanta Hawks.
