NBA: Ranking the 30 best NBA Championship Rings
Ranking the best championship rings in NBA history: 26. Los Angeles Lakers, 2000
Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal finally broke through. After spending the first few seasons of their career falling short of winning it all, they took home their first of many NBA titles with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Both O’Neal and Bryant are on the shortlist of best big man, little man combo’s to ever do it. With the pair becoming so dominant, a dynasty ensued. But for their first championship ring, they hauled in a beauty.
On the face of the ring in the very front were the words “world” while on the bottom said “champions.” Near the edges of the ring were five diamonds on each side. In the center were tons of diamonds as the words “Lakers” in purple and gold were spewed across the front.
Although the front was impressive, the side of the ring is what we’ll always remember. The Larry O’Brien was carved into the side of the ring and just beneath it was the year in which it was won. The best part, however, was the words “Bling Bling” that were etched into the side of the ring.
It might be viewed as a bit corny now but it was a perfect reference for the year 2000.
