NBA: Ranking the 30 best NBA Championship Rings
Ranking the best championship rings in NBA history: 19. Los Angeles Lakers, 2010
For the most part, once an NBA team wins back-to-back titles, their subsequent rings reflect that. With the Los Angeles Lakers exercising a few demons in their trip to the Finals in 2010, coming back from a 3-2 deficit against the Boston Celtics to win championship number 16, the franchise went all out on their rings.
On the face of the ring is a diamond-encrusted basketball, in fact, a piece of the actual game ball was used to make each ring. Two Larry O’Brien tropics are sitting on the edge of the rings to symbolize winning back-to-back titles. Eight diamonds were placed on the bottom half of the ring with an additional eight diamonds on the top half to symbolize their sixteen NBA titles.
On one side of the ring, the series outcome of every playoff round is depicted. Also, the actual scoreboard of their Game 7 win over the Celtics, which was 83-79, is also etched into the ring. The coolest part of this particular design comes on the other side. Each player has their respective face sculpted into the ring.
This ring was unique in every sense of the word and it certainly deserves a high ranking on our list.
