Pistons Starting Lineup: Locks, fringe, potential break-ins

Pistons Starting Lineup: Break-in candidates
Sekou Doumbouya and Trey Lyles
We’ll list Sekou Doumbouya as a courtesy break-in candidate for the starting lineup, but it would be hard to envision a world where that’s how things play out. The same goes for Trey Lyles, who will receive mention here simply as an acknowledgment of the fact that he is now on this Pistons roster.
Frank Jackson and Saben Lee
Frank Jackson and Saben Lee would be unlikely candidates to start, particularly Lee. If Lee is starting games for the Pistons, something probably went terribly awry with Cunningham and/or Hayes. However, Jackson was an absolute sharpshooter last season and may actually be a decent complement for Cunningham in the starting lineup. Still, this is an exceedingly unlikely outcome that would probably require a disaster.
Josh Jackson
Somewhat more believable as a break-in candidate, Josh Jackson started 25 games last season but was largely more effective off the bench. His starting lineup candidacy will have as much to do with how things go in training camp and the preseason for Saddiq Bey and Hamidou Diallo as anything else.
Cory Joseph
If the Pistons decide to split up the Cunningham/Hayes duo, somebody has to start with Cade. That somebody might end up being Cory Joseph, in the unlikely event that this is how the Pistons choose to proceed.
