Milwaukee Bucks targets in NBA free agency: 1. Patty Mills

Initially, Australian combo guard Patty Mills would be a perfect fit for the Milwaukee Bucks. The 32-year-old has spent the majority of his 12-year career under Gregg Popovich with the San Antonio Spurs but should be looking for a change of scenery after 10 seasons with the franchise.

As Mills reaches the later stages of his career, it’s possible that his preference would be to join a title-contending team. Therefore, he may be open to accepting less money for the opportunity to compete for another ring.

The 2014 NBA Champion can still play at an elite level. Last season, Mills averaged 10.8 points on 50.0/37.5/91.0 shooting splits across 24.8 minutes per game. He’s an excellent shooter, ball-handler, floor general, clutch performer, and a very intelligent role player overall.

Adding his veteran presence, valued skillset, and championship mentality to the Bucks would make complete sense. Especially with Jeff Teague likely not returning, Milwaukee needs a trusted backup point guard that fits the system and complements the core. As a reliable playmaker and career 38.8 percent 3-point shooter, Patty Mills fits the description.
