New Orleans Pelicans targets in 2021 NBA Free Agency: 4. Danny Green

Sticking with the theme of guards that can let it fly at a high clip, the Pelicans should make a strong run at Danny Green in the offseason.

Green has made a living off that 3-point shot by shooting 40.1 percent on 4.8 attempts from behind the arc per game for his career. The veteran has won three championships with three different teams over his 12-year career thus far, playing a key role on each squad because of that lethal shooting he brings to the table. Given that floor spacing prowess, it would be a no-brainer for the Pelicans to make a run at Green once he enters free agency.

Coming off one of the most productive seasons of his career by shooting an impressive 40.5 percent on a career-high 6.3 attempts per game with the Philadelphia 76ers, Green’s market will be plentiful this offseason. Almost every team in the association would love to get their hands on a sharpshooter of his caliber, and he would be the perfect role player to add to this Pelicans squad as they look to make a competitive jump next season.

Given how poorly New Orleans shot the ball this past year, Green would have the greenest of lights on the offensive end to try and bump up the team’s lackluster percentages. He would be a perfect match for Williamson as the looks he would get from the big man’s passing would be bountiful. Time will tell how much teams are willing to pay for the veteran, but the Pelicans should be in the mix regardless.
