Milwaukee Bucks offseason move No. 1: Re-sign P.J. Tucker

As mentioned earlier, P.J. Tucker was a crucial move for the Bucks this past season. He has always been an excellent defender and what he was able to accomplish against the Suns was critical to the Bucks winning the championship.

However, there has been more to Tucker’s game than just defense. He has been a tremendous floor spacer for most of his career. On top of that, he can play both wing positions as well as filling in at the power forward spot. The Houston Rockets even asked the veteran to play the center position when they went small-ball in 2019-20.

It is this versatility, defense, and floor spacing ability that means the Bucks were able to free up Khris Middleton from defending the best opposition wing each night. This takes serious effort and energy, which Middleton would miss at the other end of the floor.

Tucker expressed displeasure at the size of his contract while playing for the Rockets. However, his production with the Bucks was only 2.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.. As he just won his first championship, he would most probably re-sign for a veteran’s minimum.
