Phoenix Suns offseason move No. 1: Extend Deandre Ayton.

The former first pick in the 2018 NBA draft, Deandre Ayton had become eligible to sign his rookie extension. He came into the league with tremendous potential. He has been able to average a double-double every year of the three that he has been in the league.

However, Ayton became a true force in the league this year. His scoring averages dropped this season compared to his first two in the league but he became incredibly efficient. It was the first time during his career that Ayton shot the ball at 62.6 percent. This was the first time he shot at over 60 percent from the floor.

Ayton has learned how to play a role on this team without having to try and take over. A lot of this is due to the play and presence of Paul. He ran the team in such a manner that everybody was a weapon on the court and Ayton played his role perfectly.

As Ayton is going to get better as he progresses through his career, the Suns need to lock Ayton up for as long as they can. His combination with Devin Booker is developing before our eyes and this is just going to continue to grow the longer they play together.
