LA Clippers offseason move No. 3: Re-sign Reggie Jackson

Reggie Jackson was bought out by the Detroit Pistons in the 2019-20 season. The Pistons decided to move him on due to the number of injuries that he had suffered during his tenure there and to give him a fresh start elsewhere with the opportunity to compete for a championship in Los Angeles.

The LA Clippers claimed him off waivers last season and gave him the chance to prove that he could still be effective in the league. They then signed him to a single-season deal in December and averaged 10.7 points, 3.1 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.6 steals in 23.0 minutes per game.

He played 67 games last season, starting 43 of them. He stepped up his game in the playoffs to average 17.8 points, 3.4 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 0.9 steals in 32.7 minutes per game. He was a massive reason the Clippers were able to go as deep into the postseason as they did after Leonard went down.

Jackson is extremely thankful for the Clippers organization for taking a chance on him and as such will sign with them for a veteran’s minimum as they have so little cap space. He is going to be a key part of this team’s postseason run.
