The LA Clippers doubled down on their 2019-20 season to try and bring the first-ever title to their side of the hallway at the Staples Center. This season they made it all the way to the Western Conference Finals before being beaten but the Phoenix Suns in six games.

The Clippers made several moves in order to try and strengthen their roster trading Rodney McGruder, Reggie Perry, and Landry Shamet away. They received Luke Kennard, Jay Scrubb, and Justin Patton as well as four future second-round draft picks. In a lesser movie, they traded Mathias Lessort and a second-round pick for Daniel Oturu.

The Clippers then lost Montrezl Harrell to the Los Angeles Lakers but signed Marcus Morris, Patrick Patterson, Serge Ibaka, Reggie Jackson, and Nicolas Batum. Midway through the season, they traded Lou Williams to the Atlanta Hawks, receiving Rajon Rondo, one of the architects of last year’s Lakers championship run. They also signed DeMarcus Cousins once he cleared waivers.

Injuries cost the LA Clippers their chance at a title.

Despite the best effort of Paul George, the Clippers could not overcome the knee injury to Kawhi Leonard. He suffered the injury during the series against the Utah Jazz but the Clippers were able to pull through thanks to the rest of the team stepping up.

Now the Clippers have to decide if they are going all-in on next season as they are already over the luxury tax apron again. Because Leonard has only one year left on his deal, the Clippers’ future is a little bit up in the air after the season, if he opts in. With all this in mind, let’s take a look at the five roster moves the LA Clippers need to make this offseason.
