2018 NBA draft: Re-grading Pick Number 23. Aaron Holiday: C-

Aaron Holiday is part of a family that is started to make its name known on the highest stages of the sport, which ultimately comes with a level of expectations. Aaron Holiday is a fine NBA player but being compared to his All-Star (and now champion) brother will almost certainly lead to disappointment. During his time with the Indiana Pacers, Holiday has been fine. Fine just has long been too long the story of what is going on with the Pacers.

The Pacers rarely miss the playoffs but are also infrequently hosting a playoff series as the team with homecourt advantage. Holiday is a solid 3-point shoot (39.4 percent in his second season) and a solid defender. After starting half of the games, the team played in his second season there were hopes that new coach Nate Bjorkgren would find a way to develop him into a full-time starter. Instead, Holiday started just eight games for the team and found himself picking his spots off the bench.

Perhaps the change to a veteran coach will be exactly what Holiday and the rest of the Indiana Pacers needed. The locker room has been something of a mess for most of Holiday’s time with the team and that is not something Rick Carlisle is likely to abide.
