2018 NBA draft: Re-grading Pick Number 18. Lonnie Walker IV: B

Lonnie Walker IV has not yet had a chance to fully show what he is capable of due to the number of wings that are in place on the San Antonio Spurs roster. There are times where he has looked impressive but other times the focus is shifted to one of the many other young players. Be that as it may, as he continues to grow Lonnie Walker IV is going to make an impact on the league.

He was limited to 17 games during his rookie season while he split his time with the main roster and the G-League team. Since then his opportunities have increased and he is becoming more comfortable. His efficiency dipper in his third season, which is not uncommon for a young guy getting more accustomed to responsibility. He nearly doubled his field-goal attempts (5.9 to 10.2) and only dipped by 0.6 percent from the field.

The Spurs are in a transition from a perennial playoff team to a rebuild and while Walker is not the top prospect on the team, he is important nonetheless. His shooting stroke is pure and his defensive potential is real. Walker has overcome plenty in his life so far and is growing into a stronger player and person every day.
