2018 NBA draft: Re-grading Pick Number 17. Donte DiVincenzo: B-

Even though the Milwaukee Bucks were able to win their first title in 50 years without him, do not underestimate how important Donte DiVincenzo is to their future. He was looked at as something of a reach at the time of the draft and went on to miss almost his entire rookie season with an injury. In his second and third seasons, he found a way to make the most of his role on a team on the path to a championship.

As he has grown into his role, DiVincenzo has gotten good at a little bit of everything. He is a strong wing defender. He rebounds well for a guard (5.8 per game this season). He hit 37.9 percent of his 3-point attempts, opening up the floor for Giannis Antetokounmpo to burst through the lane.

DiVincenzo is the kind of role player every champion wants. Defense and 3-point shots are the bare minimum. Combine that with a lack of fear of big moments and his place with the new NBA champions will not be in doubt. While there is debate about some of the overall talent level remaining or the almost-trade for Bogdan Bogdanovic, that is where the questions end. Donte DiVincenzo is the perfect Buck.
