2018 NBA draft: Re-grading Pick Number 10. Mikal Bridges: A

It was made abundantly clear throughout the season and postseason that the Phoenix Suns nailed this pick, even if there were ultimately better players available. The trade on draft night was one of the stories of the evening, as the Philadelphia 76ers drafted a player whose family worked in the organization proceeded to trade him away. Turns out Bridges is the exact type of wing every team in playoff contention would dream of having on their team.

Bridges is a lockdown perimeter defender, capable of one day making an Al-Defense team. He is durable, playing in every single possible game so far over three seasons and became a full-time starter this season. He knocked down 42.5 percent of his 4.4 3-point attempts per game.

Bridges got exposed to an extent in the Finals but that does not make this pick any worse. Getting to the Finals was earlier than expected for every one of the young guys on the roster so cutting their teeth was going to come with some lumps. The fact that he was up to the challenge this early on is promising for his future in this league as a player who can contribute to winning at the highest level.
