Options for the New York Knicks in the NBA draft: 4. Ayo Dosunmu

While we’re on the topic of low-risk/high-rewards, another player that the New York Knicks could end up going for is Ayo Dosunmu. Similar to Butler, Dosunmu is projected as a late first-round pick and will most likely be waiting for his name to be called when the Knicks draft.

Dosunmu has a bit of everything in his game. A quality scorer and playmaker, with enough length to keep up with most of his opponents on the defensive end. After spending 3 seasons in Illinois, he may not be as young as some other prospects, but with age comes wisdom.

During this past collegiate season, Dosunmu led his team in points and assists per game, ultimately lifting them to Midwest’s No. 1 seed. Unfortunately, Illinois failed to escape a second-round upset and their promising season ended much earlier than expected.

The Knicks are in desperate need of someone to take the load off Julius Randle’s shoulders and take care of the ball during a few possessions. Dosunmu might not be the most athletic or eye-popping prospect out there, but he could be a very valuable piece to add to the puzzle.
