Indiana Pacers options with the 13th pick in the NBA draft: 5. Corey Kispert

The Pacers are certainly in win-now mode (if they elect to run things back with their current roster), and adding a savvy sharpshooter in Gonzaga’s Corey Kispert could help spark their bench and ultimately replace unrestricted free agent Doug McDermott if they choose not to bring the veteran forward back.

The 22-year old wing helped lead Gonzaga to the NCAA title game before falling just short to Baylor. Kispert was one of the most lethal 3-point shooters in the country, averaging 18.6 points per game to go along with 5.0 rebounds per game with .529/.440 shooting splits.

Kispert was named to the AP All-American First Team and was also dubbed the Julius Irving Small Forward of the Year during his senior season at Gonzaga.

While his age may scare some teams away, the Pacers are looking for a seasoned player who can step into the rotation right away.

Kispert brings immediate NBA range to the table and is a great floor spacer. He has also been known to move without the ball and is a reliable finisher at the rim.

Defensively Kispert can hold his own to an extent. While he won’t be guarding top-scoring threats, he is a great team defender that will be able to stay on the floor late in games.

The Pacers have a plethora of offensive weapons on their roster already and don’t need any more ball-stoppers. Kispert can keep the ball moving while also finding his own shot in catch-and-shoot situations.

Kispert could be a perfect fit for the Pacers. An efficient 3-point shooter who willingly moves off-ball on a nightly basis could help bolster the Pacers’ offensive attack.
