Chicago Bulls: Nikola Vučević will win 2022 NBA Most Improved Player
Chicago Bulls center Nikola Vučević will win the 2022 NBA Most Improved Player award.
To find the biggest individual leap in performance from one season to the next, fans would have to go all the way back to 1975. A Center named Bob McAdoo of the Buffalo Braves had a breakout season so impressive he walked away with the MVP award. His season statistics of 34.5 points per game to go along with 14.1 rebounds per game are still remarkable.
While McAdoo was an All-Star the year before, the Braves were not considered contenders and McAdoo was left off of the First Team All-NBA selection in favor of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar of the Milwaukee Bucks. For a guy who wasn’t the best player at his position and did not play for a championship contender to win the MVP award was not only a surprise, it was unheard of.
Nikola Vučević was acquired at the 2021 All-Star by the Chicago Bulls. Next season he will walk away with the Most Improved Player award.
Fans in the Windy City should prepare a round of applause for the next All-Star to make the transition from respected veteran to elite performer. He is none other than the recently acquired center, Nikola Vučević. Let’s take a closer look at how Vooch will make take home the Most Improved Player award next season.
