Competitive goals for the Detroit Pistons: 2. Win in the Central Division

Make no mistake, the Detroit Pistons are not going to win the Central Division. But they’ve been divisional punching bags, a laughingstock opponent in what is already a woebegone division once you get past the Milwaukee Bucks.

That’s never been worse than this past season when they went 1-11 in the Central with their sole victory being a 109-105 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on April 19th. They were swept out by the Bucks, Indiana Pacers and Chicago Bulls.

Since 2010, the Pistons have a cumulative divisional record of 69-101, have only had two winning seasons and two seasons right at .500. For a once-proud franchise, getting pummeled on an annual basis by all of their rivals for a decade straight has been a bitter pill to swallow.

This needs to be the season where the Pistons turn that around and finish with a winning record, and Goals 1 and 2 tie in nicely with each other. Posting a winning divisional record will be a whole lot easier if they’re finally able to get a win on the board against the Milwaukee Bucks.
